Mentoring

Executives have a tendency to think that people in senior positions, or people that have been given project responsible roles know what they should be doing. Having operational skills and knowledge or subject matter expertise, does not always mean these individuals will fully appreciate the project role that they will be accountable for. Good people that have the confidence of the executives and senior management are usually asked to be key members of the project, yet they might not have had any previous experience or formal training in a project role. In these cases it is always good for them to have support or mentoring.
In addition, executives an senior management also need mentoring on what they should be doing as part of the programme or project.
